My Story:
My name is Heather (Rue) Blanton and I have been married to my best friend for 7 years, we live on a small farm on the outside of Hiawatha Ks. We have a great life,we do everything together and thought everything was going great, until I was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in Feb. 2009, it was a total shock to us, when I had only thought that I had hurt my ankle in a soft ball game, but little did I know the problems that I was getting was due to this!
So we took the news, pondered it for a little while, and thought we have two options here, let it get the best of me and my family, or live life everyday like normal and appreciate what we do have and thank the Lord for giving me each gift that he has! The Lord has definitely blessed me, I have a wonderful family (both mine & his) and the friends that I have near and far, a girl couldn't ask for better friends. :)
So I live life normal, have fun doing it, I'm just a little slower at it! I am so thankful for the family & friends that I have, and I know they love and care about me a lot, and they continue to show me how much they do care!!
